Insurance Advice

Even in slow traffic don't follow the car in front too closely.

Here's why Ben left the school driveway in his new WRX right behind Natasha in her Saturn, followed by his friend Troy in his mom's BMW.Traffic was slow, actually 20mph. Suddenly Natasha, who doesn't believe that squirrels usually move out of the way at the last moment, slammed on her brakes, causing the WRX to rear-end the Saturn bumper, and in turn the BMW slammed into the WRX.

Outcome:
Natasha, who some would argue caused the mess, gets her rear bumper replaced by Ben/WRX owner's insurance and her driving record is untouched - not at fault.

2)Ben's insurance replaces his $2000 front bumper but he has a $500 deductible payable out of his own pocket. And he's surcharged 3 points on his driving record at approx. $80 per pt=$240 more premium per yr x 5yrs on driving record=$1200 or $1700 total not paid by best insurance. 3)Troy's insurance has to pay for Ben's $2000 WRX rear bumper plus his own $3000 BMW front bumper, and his insurance deductible is $1000.He is surcharged 4pts at $80 per pt=$320 more premium per yr x 5yrs on driving record =$1600 or $2600 total for Natasha's squirrel!
